What do you do at Ukie?
I do all things finance related including membership invoicing through to monthly management reports, keeping track of spend against the budget and reporting project funding and spend. But most importantly is to make sure we are all paid our salaries!
What made you want to work in the games industry?
I was working in the print industry and wanted to move into a more diverse creative industry and this to me was a great opportunity. I left my old job as we went into lockdown so starting a new job last year was really surreal but great to be kept busy through everything that was happening. I have virtually met some really interesting people and got to be involved in some great projects.
What are you playing at the moment?
I am old school and I have just finished playing Professor Layton and Pandora’s Box on my Nintendo DS Lite, I had forgotten how much I enjoyed playing the Professor Layton games so it has been great playing one again. I enjoy a game where you have puzzles to solve.
What do you do in your spare time, apart from playing games?
I am lucky to live in the countryside and enjoy walking. I like crafts and enjoy knitting and crochet which I find a great way to relax. I read a lot especially crime thrillers – James Patterson, Lee Childs and I love binge watching crime shows.
One of my biggest loves is baking and my latest creation was After Eight Cup Cakes which everyone enjoyed, so I have now created an after eight mug cake which is honestly really good.
Do you have a pet? (Show us a picture!) If not, what pet would you like to have one day?
I have a dog, he’s an English Springer Spaniel and I just love him, he is such a great companion and so good. The face says it all he knows how to get treats…. (which is his favourite word)
