UK Game of the Show 2020 round up: Junkfish's Monstrum 2 takes the prize and advances to EuroPlay final

Did you miss UK Game of the Show last night? Want to see all the games again? Or have your eye on one particular title that you must know more about? We've rounded up UK Game of the Show below to get you caught up on all the action.

UK Game of the Show - Round Up

The UK Game of the Show took place on Monday 24 August and we had a spectacular time. 15 of the best unreleased games in the UK went head on head live on Ukie's Twitch to become both the UK Game of the Show for Gamescom 2020 and to represent the country in the first ever EuroPlay contest.

After a fierce, but thoroughly friendly, battle, which saw over a thousand votes cast in 45 minutes flat, Junkfish's Monstrum 2 emerged as the winner - securing the Dundee studio a place in Friday's international unreleased game showdown.

“A huge congratulations to Junkfish on winning UK Game of the Show," said Dr Jo Twist OBE, CEO of Ukie. All 15 entries for Games of the Show representing AAA to small indies and everything in between really showcased the amazing companies we have making games right here in the UK. "

Monstrum II is a fantastic example of the kind of games coming out of the incredibly creative and talented teams we have in the UK and I know they will have all our support up and down the country when they represent the UK on Friday in the Europlay Games Contest.”

You can find out more about Monstrum 2 and all of the other fantastic games in UK Game of the Show below.

Don't forget to sign up to EuroPlay taking place this Friday 28th August.

UK Game of the Show - Winner

This year's UK Game of the Show winner is Monstrum 2 from Junkfish. Monstrum 2 is an asymmetrical multiplayer survival horror in which teams of up-to-four human players must outwit a host of horrifying monstrosities stalking them through decrepit sea fortress.

And it's fair to say that while Junkfish will be hoping that their game may leave you horrified, the team were rather delighted to emerge as UK Game of the Show winner.

"We couldn't believe it when we heard Monstrum 2 had won the UK Game of the Show competition! We are so grateful to everyone who voted, and to all our amazing fellow finalists.  None of this would've been possible without the support of our wonderful community. This opportunity means the world to us, and we will do our best to do all of you proud at EuroPlay and beyond!"
