Ukie is proud to partner with video games expo WASD on two upcoming student activities across our education programme.
This year, WASD returns to the Truman Brewery, London, 25-27 April 2024. Ukie is excited to be bringing cohorts of students from our Digital Schoolhouse and Ukie Students programmes to the event, giving young people a valuable opportunity to meet, learn from and play video games with industry professionals.
WASD will be collaborating on our Ukie Student Game Jam, taking place over 14 & 15 March 2024. The winning team will get the incredible opportunity to exhibit their game demo at WASD.
WASD will also be hosting the Grand Final of our Digital Schoolhouse Splatoon 3 Tournament on Thursday 25 April 2024. The tournament will feature as the centrepiece of the day and will see the top four teams from over 50 competing schools battle it out to win the championship title.
We are excited to be bringing these Ukie Education events to WASD for the first time this year. Combining the opportunity to participate in and learn from the expo adds a unique additional layer to our Ukie Students Game Jam and Digital Schoolhouse Splatoon 3 Tournament. We look forward to bringing these events to life and seeing the impact it has on future industry talent.

Ukie's Digital Schoolhouse together Nintendo UK provides an immersive careers education experience for students who are passionate about a career in the Creative Digital sector. Students aged 11-18 years can participate as players or fulfil professional roles crafted by the video games industry, for education.
Students will spend the coming weeks battling it out with other schools in the regional qualifiers and semi-finals to win a spot to compete at the Grand Final on Thursday 25 April, in front of a live audience of fellow students, teachers and industry talent.
This year’s tournament will also see a return of the highly anticipated Creative Careers Competition, with awards in journalism, commentating and brand design. We will also be launching new categories in production and content creation. The entries for each competition will be judged by industry experts, with the winners being announced and celebrated as part of the live Grand Final.
The Ukie Student Game Jam is an exciting and creative opportunity for Ukie's student members to flex their game-making muscles by creating an original video game over 14 & 15 March 2024.
Each participating team is paired with an industry mentor, making this an unmissable opportunity for students to learn directly from developers, and for professionals to engage with the next generation of video games talent.
The winning team will get the incredible opportunity to exhibit their game demo at WASD. An awards presentation will take place on the WASD Careers Stage on Thursday 25 April, to showcase the participating students and the brilliant work produced during the Jam.
David Lilley, Co-Founder of Roucan, the team behind WASD, will join our panel of industry judges who select the Jam’s winning game and other awards.
