We are delighted to announce Crayfish.io’s first in a series of global professional networking events, designed to connect like-minded individuals across cities in the UK and China in real-time.


There is never a better time to unleash the power of connectivity. This event will provide a unique avenue to learn and be inspired by leaders from a diverse background. You can also meet and engage with like-minded professionals thousands of miles away and join our online community of Chinese speaking professionals.

Participants will first hear an inspirational speech about leadership from Lord Wei of Shoreditch. Then a panel consisting of entrepreneurs and outstanding Chinese professionals in the UK and China will gather and discuss career options and advice for those seeking to advance their career.

The event will run in the following format:

Keynote speaker:

Lord Wei of Shoreditch

Lord Wei is a social entrepreneur, advisor, author and legislator with an interest in social reform and is the first British-born person of Chinese origin to serve as a member of the House of Lords.  His background is in business, investing, technology, and social enterprise, and he also advises and is a non-executive director of a number of commercial boards spanning residential and commercial real estate, wealth management, and technology investment.

Determined to make an even more significant impact in his community, country, and the rest of the world, Lord Wei continues to be involved in different fields, particularly technology, to be a catalyst of influential positive change and is passionate about nurturing potential future leaders.

Panel speakers:

Suwei Jiang, Partner at China Business Group, PwC

Suwei is the Lead Partner of China Business Group and Senior China Advisor in PwC UK. Suwei is an audit and transaction partner by background, and now deals with all aspects of China inbound and outbound businesses across sectors in the UK.

She is an experienced practitioner in delivering M&A transactions, capital markets and financing projects, and large scale global engagements for private and public sector clients in both the UK and China. In recent years, Suwei has been heavily involved in the Belt & Road Initiative (BRI), advising UK and Chinese companies on how to work together to explore opportunities in BRI countries. Suwei has a wide network of senior stakeholders in both countries, including business communities, governmental and regulatory bodies.

Suwei joined PwC London in 1998 and qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 2001. In 2018, under her leadership, PwC successfully launched UK’s first cross-company Chinese talent and leadership development platform. Suwei is the first mainland Chinese admitted into partnership in a Big 4  UK firm. She won the 1st China Business Leaders Awards in the UK in 2015, and the Mulan Awards in 2016.

Chris Cheung, Founder of AgileWorld, ex MD of EU China SME centre

Chris is a British Born Chinese (from London) and has been working in China for almost twenty years, delivering outstanding service experiences for MNCs, small businesses and government organisations. Chris is an experienced team and change leader; at the EU SME Centre (Managing Director) he grew the team from four members to 20 to deliver training, consultancy and knowledge services to European small businesses from 28 member states. Previously, he led a multicultural team of 30 to deliver market intelligence and insights to UK companies.  His diverse work experience includes work for MNCs such as APCO and Siemens and Department of Trade and Industry (now DIT) in the UK.

Chris currently runs his own start up called AgileWorld and is also on the advisory board of the European project - European Network of Research and Innovation Centres and Hubs. Chris is a native English speaker and fluent in Chinese. He is also a full-stack developer and, with his team, has recently won the Google and Techstars sponsored StartupWeekend in Beijing.

Jenny Chen, Certified Coach & Partner at Whelfs Consulting

Jenny is a highly effective coach, facilitator and HR consultant with a solid professional background and leadership experience.  She has lived and worked in 10 cities in China, and visited 15 European countries during her two-year career in Europe. Her experiences from local to global contribute to her great intercultural sensibility, capability and adaptability.

Her HR experience consists of around 20 years working in MNC including Yum, Unilever, Baxter and Ferrero,  rising to head of China HR and gaining high recognition from both business leaders and employees.  She is a pragmatic HR consultant who can understand the needs of both business and organisation, and she provides effective and customised solutions to make real impact to organisation and people development.

Tony Xu, Founder of Perfocal

Tony Xu is a tech entrepreneur based in London, UK. Driven by both passion and knowledge, he takes pride in creating disruptive, adaptive and beautiful digital products for both consumers and businesses. As the founder and CEO of perfocal.com, his current mission is to empower everyone's story through great photography.
