In collaboration with "Do I Look Like A Gamer?" campaign partners Payload Studios and sponsors Splash Damage, organisers mayamada are inviting you to discover career paths into the video games industry from those who make games today!
Despite being a popular source of entertainment for many consumers, actually building a career in video games can be a daunting task that comes with many questions. Both from those who aspire to work in the industry as well as parents, guardians and carers supporting their first steps.
All are invited for an evening at the award-winning, independent games studio based in Farringdon, London. The event will bring together a diverse roundtable of new and experienced games professionals, who will be discussing video games as a career and answering burning questions from young people, parents and teachers alike.
The "Do I Look Like A Gamer?" campaign was launched in February 2022 and continues with three events aimed at raising awareness of career paths in gaming as well as providing opportunities for aspiring professionals to develop key skills.
The event will be composed of two roundtables for young people and parents to discover career paths into video games.
Roundtable 1 (from 6PM): A discussion with new professionals in the industry to discover the pathways into video games and perception versus realities of workingn in games.
Roundtable 2 (from 7PM): A discussion with experienced games profesisonals to look at future careers and how to build a sustainable career in video games.
GETTING TO PAYLOAD STUDIOS
We are a 9 minute walk from Farringdon Station: Payload Studios, 1 Baker's Yard, London EC1R 3DD.
PLEASE NOTE: Due to COVID-19 considerations, venue capacity is limited to 30 people and places will be provided on a first come first serve basis. Please ensure you RSVP through Eventbrite and arrive promptly to secure your place.
Even though COVID-19 restrictions have been relaxed in the UK, we understand that some may still be uncomfortable with travel to events at this time.
We also know that some attendees will not be in London or otherwise unable to travel, so both roundtable discussions will be livestreamed on the mayamada Twitch channel and TikTok.
