Red Phantom Games (based in Leamington Spa, U.K.) is a video game development company founded in 2012 by Richard Ogden who has over 26 years experience in the industry, and formerly worked at Sony Computer Entertainment, Bigbig Studios (as a company founder and game director) and Codemasters.
Red Phantom Games develops fun, original, distinctive, ambitious and interesting indie games for home consoles and PC.
The company ethos is to blend classic game design sensibilities with modern thinking. "Incremental innovation" is key. We have, after all, a 40+ year history of video game creation to draw upon.
"Gearshifters", a unique vehicle combat shmup-roguelite action arcade game is now available on Steam, PlayStation®4 and Nintendo Switch™ and Xbox One. (Publisher Numskull Games, released October 2021 digitally and physically).
"Minutes", an abstract "bullet hell" action game, was self-published on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita in November 2014 (February 2015 in the U.S.)
In between development of its own games, Red Phantom Games also engages in consulting, support and contract activities and has worked with a number of other developers and publishers on various titles, for example "Rollerdrome" and "Laser League" (developed by Roll7 and published by 505 Games) and console ports of "Downwell" (developed by Moppin and published by Devolver Digital).
