Festival of Play – Digital Schoolhouse announces speakers for event at HOST Salford

Digital Schoolhouse have announced the full programme of speakers and exhibitors for Festival of Play at HOST Salford on 13th July.

Brought to you by Digital Schoolhouse in association with Electronic Arts, the Festival of Play is a brand-new creative careers and Computing conference for students aged 8 - 15 years, packed with interactive workshops, inspiring talks, and innovative games.

Not only will the Festival of Play educate and empower students to get hands on with technology used in the field, STEAM subjects and related jobs, it will also equip accompanying teachers with creative and playful ways to approach Computing in the classroom.

Workshops and Activities

Dean Leander (Wolfy) – Morning Keynote

Dean Leander, aka Wolfy, is a YouTuber, influencer, gamer and presenter from the UK. Known from being a part of YouTube duo MavricWolves and presenting on EA's FIFA Esports broadcasts as an analyst and host, he has gone on to work closely with Chelsea Football Club and creates vlogging and games content.

Media Molecule – Dreams demo

A video game creation system and service developed by Media Molecule and Sony, Dreams encourages players to design their own video games, gadgets, music, movies, puzzles, paintings and everything in-between and beyond.

TT Games - Behind the scenes of Game Development – Building a Galaxy

TT Games are the five-time BAFTA award-winning developers of numerous hit LEGO® videogame franchise video games.

Bowie Alexander (Bowie the Hero) – Esports Commentary and Casting

Bowie the Hero is a stage host, presenter, actor and commentator. One of the hosts of ESA's Break the Record: Live, he is also a leading Smash Ultimate commentator in Europe and works with Nintendo on a host of live events such as EGX, GamesCom and a variety of tournaments and competitions.

Everfi – Play to Learn with FIFA

Everfi is an international technology company driving social impact through education. Providing scalable, data-driven educational software and content, Everfi have reached more than 45 million learners globally since it was founded in 2008.

mayamada – Game Design Jam

mayamada is a creative brand across manga, video games and youth engagement, championing diverse stories and characters. Their GamePad socials provide a platform for inclusion and diversity in the games industry, and their Game Design Jams bring friends and family together for a crash course in creating a tabletop game.
