What do you do at Ukie?
I've been working in my current role as Community Outreach Officer with Digital Schoolhouse since Easter of this year but have previously been a DSH Lead Teacher for the past 5 years. I also work 3 days per week as a Compter Science teacher in West Yorkshire.
My current role involves responsibility for the day to day running of a joint Arts Council England and Digital Schoolhouse pilot project which is looking at getting further DSH workshops delivered through libraries. I currently look after 5 library authorities around the country, ensuring they have the confidence and skills to deliver computational thinking and digital literacy workshops to their local communities.
What made you want to work in the games industry?
As a teacher, I often see the power that games can have as a tool to enhance learning, and I know the games industry is an incredible career path for our youngsters to take. I think currently there's not enough connection between secondary schools and the games industry, and I'd like to be someone who helps get those connections in place.

What are you playing at the moment?
I'm currently playing F1 22 and Lego Star Wars - The Skywalker Saga, but I always make time for Bubble Bobble, which is my all-time favourite game.
What do you do in your spare time, apart from playing games?
I like to watch films and TV, mainly sci-fi and thrillers. I am a keen (aka 'not very good') bass guitarist and have been in various bands since I was a teenager.

Do you have a pet? (Show us a picture!) If not, what pet would you like to have one day?
I have two pets, 10-week-old Nala, a golden retriever and a grumpy 7-year-old cat called Tiger, who's even grumpier now that Nala has come into our lives!
